Most pain treatments work by reducing inflammation or blocking pain signals. Shockwave therapy works at a different level — it delivers targeted acoustic waves directly to damaged tissue, stimulating the body's own repair mechanisms where they've stalled.

Your first shockwave session
The treatment itself takes 10–15 minutes. Most patients describe the sensation as a deep pulsing pressure — noticeable but well tolerated. Many notice a change in their pain level immediately. Some take a few sessions. We'll tell you honestly what to expect for your situation.

What shockwave can and can't do
Shockwave therapy has strong clinical evidence behind it — particularly for tendon injuries, plantar fasciitis, and calcific conditions. For the right patient with the right condition, results can be significant and lasting.
It isn't a universal solution. Some conditions respond better than others. Some patients see dramatic improvement after one or two sessions. Others need a full course of treatment. A small percentage don't respond as expected.
We'd rather tell you that honestly before your first visit than oversell the outcome and underdeliver the experience.

Most patients describe the sensation as a deep pulsing pressure — noticeable but well tolerated. The intensity is adjustable and we work within your comfort level throughout the session. There are no needles or injections involved.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the condition and how your tissue responds. Some patients see significant improvement after one or two sessions. Most chronic conditions respond best to a course of 3–6 sessions spaced about a week apart. We'll give you an honest estimate after your evaluation.
Is there any downtime?
Generally no. Some patients experience mild soreness in the treated area for 24–48 hours — similar to post-exercise soreness. Most return to normal activity immediately.
Is there any commitment required?
None beyond the first session. After your evaluation and first treatment, we'll recommend what we think makes sense. What you decide to do from there is entirely up to you.
